Apple Mince Tart recipe

Old-fashioned lemon-scented apple and mincementtart, glazed with melted apricot jam.

Recipe: Apple Mince Tart

3 tart baking apples, sliced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 cups prepared mincemeat
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 teaspoons butter
1/2 cup apricot jam, melted
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  • In a bowl combine thinly sliced appleswith lemon juice; tossing to coat evenly.
  • Spread mincemeat in unbaked pie shell;arrange the apples on top. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, andnutmeg. Dot with butter.
  • Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until thecrust is golden and the apples are tender. Brush with meltedapricot jam.

    Makes 9 servings.
