These scumptious bars will remind you ofapple streusel pie.
Recipe: Apple Crumb Bars
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup quick rolled oats
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarineBars:1 cup quick or old-fashioned (rolled)oats
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – divided use
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 large egg, beaten
4 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Makes 40 Bars.
Tip: To yield 40 bars, divide the 15-inch-longside into 8 sections. Divide the perpendicular 10-inch-long sideinto 5 sections.
