Apple Cranberry Crisp recipe

An old-fashioned dessert for the youngat heart.

Recipe: Apple Cranberry Crisp

1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 cups frozen escalloped apples, defrost according to packagedirections
1 (8-ounce) jar apple curry chutney

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Combine flour, oats, granulated sugar,brown sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Cut in butter with pastryblender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir together escalloped apples and chutneyin medium bowl. Pour into ungreased 8-inch-square baking pan.Sprinkle with crumb mixture.
  • Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until goldenbrown.

    Makes 6 servings.

    This was incredible. The perfect amount of fruit versus crumble. I did increase the cranberries to a full 12 oz bag and reduced the apples. This was a huge hit on Thanksgiving and it was so easy to make. I will definitely be making this one again. Cut back on sugar in only the fruit filling or in the topping as well? Thanks for responding so quick. I will try this over the weekend!
