Abuelita Champurrado recipe

Abuelita Champurrado.Champurrado isa warm, thick and sweet Mexican chocolate drink.

Recipe: Abuelita Champurrado

1 1/2 cups hot water
1/2 to 1/3 cup masa flour
3 cups milk
1 to 1 1/2 tablets (90 g each) NESTL ABUELITA Chocolate

  • Place hot water and masa flour in largesaucepan; mix until smooth. Add milk and Abuelita chocolate.Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until boiling. Reduceheat to low; cook, stirring constantly, for 1 to 3 minutes oruntil thickened to desired consistency. Sprinkle with groundcinnamon, if desired. Serve immediately.

    Makes 4 servings.

    Suggestions: Anise and/or cloves can alsobe added to mixture if desired and then removed before serving.The mixture can be strained through a fine sieve before servingif a smoother Champurrado is desired.

    The masa in Champurrado sounds crazy to the white girl deep inside me but DAG GUMMIT if this doesn t sound GRAND to the pregnant lady in me!
